Valentin Jansen is a french composer for media and contemporary “classical” music.

Already in love with music, he starts playing the piano at the age of 7 and composing around 12. He then integrates the Conservatoire de Lille where he studies composition, harmony and orchestration (with Vincent Paulet). He obtains his degree in 2015, with jury congratulations. In 2016, he is awarded a Composition Prize by the SACEM.

His love for cinema drives him to study Media Technologies as well ; he obtains a Master degree in 2014 in Sound technology, at the University of Valenciennes. This training allows him to understand the many aspects and challenges – both technical and artistical – of the workflow of audiovisual products (such as TV, cinema, music or video games…).

He writes, among others, for ARTE, for the students of the “Ecole Supérieure de Musique et de Danse” of Lille, the Valentiana orchestra, the “Adventi” and “Qu’Artz” choirs, and several short-movies and documentaries, etc. He is awarded in 2018 the First Prize of the Composition Competition of the music festival “Les Inouïes” in Arras for his String Quartet n°1.
